Hand of Friendship 2008

Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed thousands of dollars to many worthy organizations: Deborah Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Children's Center at St. Barnabas Hospital, American Cancer Society, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Mended Hearts, American Diabetes Association, Alliance for Lupus Research, Lymphoma & Leukemia Society, Alzheimer's Association, Habitat for Humanity, and local emergency services throughout the state.
In May, the Foundation sponsors, a "Hand of Friendship Day," which provides games, prizes, music, and food for special needs adults. A Circus performance takes place in June where complimentary tickets are provided. Children and adults with special needs throughout New Jersey are invited to attend. Pythians also sponsor local programs for regular and special needs children in conjunction with the local recreation departments in many towns.
Our Bike-a-thon/Walk-a-thon was introduced to generate funds for charitable distribution. We have donated over $100,000.00 to a wide variety of charities and local emergency organizations.
The NJKoP Charity Foundation actively supports, and participates in charity
programs sponsored and run by our ten Pythian Lodges throughout
the state.
